Seema Haider, the Pakistani woman who crossed into India for love and married an Indian citizen, has now been caught in the diplomatic fallout following the recent Pahalgam incident.
She has reportedly been ordered to leave India within three days under new government directives.
According to India Today, after the Pahalgam attack that claimed the lives of tourists, the Indian government mandated that all Pakistani nationals must exit the country by the end of April.
Seema Haider’s lawyer, A.P. Singh, remains hopeful despite the growing hostility, arguing that Seema should be exempted from these orders as she is no longer a Pakistani citizen.
A.P. Singh emphasized that Seema is now married to Sachin Meena, residing in Greater Noida, and has recently given birth to a daughter named Bharati Meena.

He asserted that her legal status should be considered tied to her husband’s Indian citizenship and thus India's recent directives should not apply to her.
Singh further explained that Seema’s case is distinct because she is already under investigation by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and has complied with all bail conditions, including residing separately from her husband’s family in Rabupura, Greater Noida.
He also mentioned that a petition has been submitted to the President of India on her behalf.
The birth certificate of Seema’s daughter, issued by the Uttar Pradesh government, lists her and Sachin Meena as parents, further reinforcing her integration into Indian society.
Seema Haider originally entered India illegally via Nepal, leaving behind her Pakistani husband and four children in Sindh. She now lives with Sachin Meena in Uttar PradIndianl
The Indian government’s decision to revoke visas for Pakistani citizens came after a high-level security meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following the Pahalgam attack.
The Ministry of External Affairs later announced that all Pakistani nationals currently in India must depart before their visas expire, with special considerations for medical visas valid until April 29.
