A recent survey conducted by an American university revealed a disturbing rise in racist attitudes among Israeli Jews, with 80% expressing support for the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza.

The poll, carried out by Penn State University in March, also found that 56% of Israeli Jews support the expulsion of Palestinian citizens of Israel, an indication of intensifying hostility toward Palestinians within Israeli society.

These figures mark a sharp rise from earlier years. In a similar survey conducted in 2003, 42% of Israeli respondents supported the removal of Palestinians from Gaza, while 31% backed the expulsion of Palestinian citizens of Israel.

The study also uncovered deeply troubling views on the use of military force. Nearly half, 47% of respondents agreed that the Israeli army should kill the inhabitants of an enemy city.

Equally alarming, 65% of respondents said they believe Amalek, a biblical enemy of the Israelites mentioned in the Hebrew Bible, exists today.

Furthermore, 93% supported the commandment to eliminate Amalek from the world, as described in religious scripture.

The survey, which included responses from 1,005 Israeli Jews, highlights an intensifying dehumanisation of Palestinians and a growing acceptance of violence and exclusion within mainstream Israeli society.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 53,822 Palestinians have been killed and 122,382 injured in Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023.
