US President Donald Trump has signaled a breakthrough in the Middle East, hinting at a new peace plan for Gaza that he says has the backing of major Muslim countries.

Taking to X on Sunday, Trump wrote, “We have a real chance for greatness in the Middle East. All are on board for something special, first time ever. We will get it done!!!”

According to reports, the plan was presented to the leaders of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan. While Trump did not reveal the details.

As per reports in the international media, the plan includes a permanent ceasefire, the release of hostages, withdrawal of Israeli troops, a security force and large-scale humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The proposal reportedly suggests a new government for Gaza without Hamas, while strengthening the Palestinian Authority. It also calls for a joint security force and reconstruction efforts funded by regional countries.

Arab and Islamic leaders reportedly welcomed the initiative but reiterated their opposition to Israeli occupation, annexation of the West Bank, and any changes to the status of Jerusalem’s holy sites.

Trump assured that Israel would not be allowed to annex any part of the West Bank, while US officials expressed hope for a significant breakthrough soon.

Trump is scheduled to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday to discuss a framework for the agreement. While Trump has engaged with Middle Eastern nations on the issue, Hamas officials say they have not received any formal proposal.

Earlier reports, citing Israeli media, suggested that Hamas might agree in principle to release Israeli prisoners in exchange for the gradual release of Palestinian prisoners and a withdrawal of Israeli forces. However, a Hamas official told Reuters that no concrete plan had been shared.

Western nations, including the European Union, are reportedly considering sanctions, alongside growing calls for sports and cultural boycotts of Israel.

During the ongoing genocide, Israeli attacks on Gaza have killed over 66,005 people, including women and children, left more than 168,162 injured, and trapped at least 14,222 under rubble.
