US President Donald Trump surprised 13-year-old cancer survivor DJ Daniel by fulfilling his long-held wish of becoming a police officer and announcing his appointment as the youngest-ever Secret Service agent.
The announcement was made by the president on Wednesday, directing the Service director to make DJ an agent officially.
“Tonight, DJ, we are going to do you the biggest honour of them all. I am asking our new Secret Service director, Sean Curran, to officially make you an agent of the United States Secret Service. Thank you. DJ,” Trump said.
Following the President’s order, Curran immediately handed over a badge to the teen, during the chants of “DJ! DJI” by lawmakers.
Trump narrated the story of DJ, who always “dreamed of being a police officer”, but life gave him limited time.

DJ was diagnosed with rare brain cancer in 2018 and doctors gave him five months to live. From that moment, DJ and his father explored every possibility to fulfill his dream.
Finally, on Wednesday, DJ was sworn in as an honorary law enforcement officer, receiving admiration and appreciation from those present.
In a heartwarming moment, Trump also surprised a high school senior, Jason Hartary, by announcing that his application to the prestigious US Military Academy at West Point had been accepted.
Hartary, who wants to follow in his father's footsteps of service, was overjoyed by the news and was even congratulated with a high-five from DJ.
