Michael Kugelman, a US-based South Asia expert, has described Pakistan’s latest diplomatic efforts as one of its most significant achievements in recent years.
In a statement, Kugelman said that Pakistan had proven its sceptics and critics wrong, noting that many had doubted its ability to manage a complex, high-level international situation.
He emphasised that the development marked a major diplomatic success, highlighting Pakistan’s role in navigating a sensitive geopolitical crisis. According to Kugelman, the country’s efforts were instrumental in helping avert a potentially catastrophic situation in Iran.
The remarks come after Donald Trump, the US President, accepted a proposal put forward by Shehbaz Sharif for a two-week ceasefire.
Analysts suggest the move reflects growing recognition of Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement on the global stage, particularly in efforts aimed at de-escalation and regional stability.
