American security contractors stationed at aid distribution sites in Gaza revealed that armed mercenaries, hired by the United States, are deliberately opening fire on starving Palestinians who gather to collect humanitarian aid.

According to an Associated Press (AP) report, two unnamed US mercenaries shared videos showing security guards laughing, celebrating, and taking pleasure in shooting civilians, some of whom were either waiting in line for food or walking away with large sacks of flour. The footage reportedly shows guards kicking over aid bags and targeting unarmed people at distribution points.

The Gaza Strip remains under a total blockade by Israel, with no United Nations aid trucks being allowed into the enclave. People are dying of starvation, and humanitarian supplies are being choked at all levels.

In February, the US established the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), claiming it was meant to help deliver aid. However, Israel has only allowed GHF to operate within Gaza, granting it exclusive access in May.

The US government also made a $30 million donation to the foundation.

The foundation has come under heavy criticism, with multiple sources alleging it is being used as cover to target Palestinian civilians under the guise of charity. Witnesses and whistleblowers say that whenever large crowds gather around GHF distribution points, gunfire is opened on them.

One security contractor, who works under the GHF and later spoke out, said he was deeply disturbed by the brutal behavior of his fellow guards, describing the entire operation as a trap to lure and harm desperate Palestinians.

According to AP, journalists have been barred from accessing GHF distribution sites, and no transparency exists around how the organisation operates.

Several recent incidents have been reported where Palestinians waiting at metal gates were shot at by Israeli forces or US-hired security personnel.

In response to mounting criticism, the GHF denied targeting civilians, stating that certain elements are trying to sabotage our aid efforts in Gaza.

Over 57,012 Palestinians have been killed, the majority being women and children, while 134,592 civilians have been injured. According to Palestinian authorities in Gaza, nearly 11,000 bodies are still trapped under rubble.
