In a surprising twist at his wedding, an AI startup co-founder captured the attention of guests not with extravagant decor or his appearance, but by bringing his laptop to the event and working while the guests enjoyed the festivities.

Thoughtly’s CEO and co-founder, Leonard shared a photo on LinkedIn featuring his fellow co-founder, Casey Mackrell, engrossed in his laptop during his own wedding ceremony.

In the caption, Leonard explained that the company had recently acquired a new client for a project that needed to be completed within a two-week deadline, coinciding with the dates of the wedding.

"So, here he is wrapping up a pull request at his own wedding. Congrats, Casey—now please, go take some time off," Leonard wrote in his LinkedIn post.

The post garnered mixed reactions and comments, sparking a debate about work-life balance. Some criticised the incident, arguing it blurs the lines of professionalism and personal life.

In the comments section, Mackrell clarified that he joined the event just moments after the photo was taken.

"This isn’t a flex; it’s sad," LinkedIn user Peter Joaquin commented on the post.

Another user added, "Utterly bizarre to post this. This is nothing to brag about. This guy is at his own wedding working on his laptop, and you’re congratulating him?"

Critics raised doubts about the startup's work environment, labelling it a "nightmare" because of its questionable work ethics.
