Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife are aiming to build a $100 million mansion, Kualoa Ranch, on Kauai island in Hawaii. The colossal compound features an underground 5000-square-foot bunker with its own power source.
A detailed investigation report by Wired revealed a hidden world on Mark Zuckerberg's island estate, which includes a subterranean bunker, treehouse villages, and robust security measures.
The most intriguing aspect of Zuckerberg's underwater mansion is its location on one of the world's most expensive estates, Kualoa Ranch. Land acquisition alone cost him a staggering $170 million.
Furthermore, shrouded in secrecy, the mansion boasts extensive security measures, with cameras vigilantly monitoring the premises, as reported by Wired. Even insiders are forbidden from revealing any details to the press.
The compound is secured by a 6-foot perimeter wall with mandatory non-disclosure agreements for all workers.
A portion of the doors are planned to be soundproofed and controlled by keypad access. The structure incorporates several "blind doors," hidden so well that they blend with the surrounding walls.
Zuckerberg's planned underground concrete shelter dubbed by some as "doomsday escape," will embrace a style "common in bunkers and bomb shelters."
Encompassing over a dozen buildings, the compound boasts 30 bedrooms and 30 bathrooms, the shelter's self-sufficiency is ensured by a colossal 55-foot water tank and a dedicated power source.
The compound's design incorporates a substantial water tank and pumping system, to support the already established ranching and agricultural activities on the vast 1,400-acre estate.
As revealed in documents obtained by Wired, the Zuckerberg compound encompasses designated living spaces and functional areas for mechanical equipment.
The plans also detail a "web" of eleven disc-shaped treehouses, interconnected by rope bridges, allowing visitors to move from one building to another.
A representative of the Facebook founder clarified that the compound is solely intended as a family home for the Facebook founder and his family.
