In a bizarre incident in the United States, a truck transporting honeybees overturned in Whatcom County, Washington, releasing an estimated 250 million bees into the open air, according to international media reports.
The incident occurred on Friday when the truck, which was carrying over 30,000 kilograms of beehives, lost balance and flipped over during transportation.
The hives were reportedly being relocated to a different location.
Following the accident, authorities immediately issued public safety alerts, urging people to avoid the area and take precautions to protect themselves from potential bee stings.
Local beekeepers and entomology experts were called to the scene and have begun efforts to safely recover the bees.
