Man bakes cake for girlfriend with gold ring inside, she accidentally chews it

In an unusual proposal attempt, a man in China baked a cake for his girlfriend and hid a gold ring inside as part of his creative idea. However, the proposal took an unexpected turn when the woman unknowingly chewed the gold ring while eating the cake.

The incident took place in Sichuan, a southwest province of China.

According to Chinese media, the woman, Liu shared her experience on her social media account on Red Note, warning others about the potential risks of such a unique proposal idea.

“Attention, all men: never hide a proposal ring in food!" her post read.

Liu explained to the South China Morning Post that after returning home from work one evening, exhausted and hungry, she decided to eat a meat floss cake baked by her boyfriend.

While enjoying the cake, Liu bit into a hard object. She was about to complain to the bakery when she discovered it was the gold ring her boyfriend had secretly placed inside.

Upon realising what had happened, Liu’s boyfriend said, “Honey, I think this might be the ring I was going to propose to you with.”

The gold ring had split into two pieces, leaving the couple puzzled about how to proceed with the proposal.

Liu’s boyfriend jokingly asked if he should “kneel down” to propose, which led to both of them laughing. The situation, though awkward, ended up becoming a memorable moment, and the couple decided to move forward with their relationship.

Liu told the Xiaoxiang Morning Herald, “This will be a memory we will never forget, but this proposal method is a bit risky. I hope others take our story as a caution and avoid trying it themselves.”

She also referred to the incident as the “most dramatic scene of the year.”

Social media users were amused by the unusual story, with some even marveling at Liu’s strong bite that managed to split the gold ring into two.
