The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has recently declared a 24-hour "gas holiday" encompassing all industries, including power generation units, and CNG stations across Sindh.

Scheduled to commence from 8 a.m. on May 19 (Sunday) until 8 a.m. on May 20 (Monday), this temporary cessation in gas supply aims to address the prevailing shortages within the SSGC system.

Attributing the decision to dwindling gas reserves and resultant low pressures within their infrastructure, SSGC underscores the necessity of this measure to stabilize their gas distribution network.

To uphold compliance, SSGC has issued stern warnings, outlining stringent consequences for any breach during the designated gas holiday. Any industry found flouting the directive risks facing disconnection of gas supplies for a minimum duration of 7 days as per the company's enforcement policy.

This move underscores the critical need for coordinated efforts to manage gas resources effectively amid supply constraints, emphasizing the imperative of adherence to regulatory measures for sustainable gas distribution.
