Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Rashid Langrial, has issued a warning that actions against non-filers will begin from November 1.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Rashid Langrial stated that the number of income tax returns filed has exceeded 4 million, doubling compared to last year.

He emphasized that there will be no extension in the deadline for submitting income tax returns.

The FBR Chairman warned that large-scale actions against non-filers will commence in November, as all data on non-filers is available.

He added that the Prime Minister has directed that tax evaders will not be spared. It’s important to note that the last date to submit income tax returns is October 14.

The FBR has decided to impose 15 restrictions on tax evaders by abolishing the non-filer category, with five initial restrictions to be applied, including bans on property, vehicles, international travel, opening current accounts, and investing in mutual funds.
