Gold prices in Pakistan saw a notable decrease on Friday, following a dip in international market rates. The price of one tola of gold in the local market fell by Rs800, bringing it to Rs273,200.
The price of 10 grams of gold also dropped by Rs686, settling at Rs234,225, according to data from the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
This reduction follows a sharp rise in prices on Thursday when gold surged by Rs1,400 per tola in Pakistan.
On the global front, gold prices experienced a slight dip, with the international rate falling by $8 to $2,620 per ounce, including a $20 premium, as reported by APGJSA.
Despite the decline in gold, silver prices remained stable, holding steady at Rs3,350 per tola in the local market.
Globally, gold prices faced slight pressure due to light trading, but remained on course for a weekly gain.
Investors are closely watching developments related to the US economy, the Federal Reserve’s interest rate policies for 2025, and the economic plans of the incoming Donald Trump administration.
Spot gold dropped 0.2% to $2,630.28 per ounce, while US gold futures also eased by 0.2% to $2,649.10 per ounce.
