Govt expected to allocate Rs1.98 billion for Karachi Green Line Bus project in Budget2026-27

The federal government has proposed allocating funds for several ongoing and new development projects in Karachi under the Federal Budget 2026-27, according to budget documents.
Among the major allocations, the government has proposed setting aside Rs1.98 billion for the Green Line Bus project in Karachi.
The budget documents also outline funding for a range of infrastructure-related schemes across the city, including roads, streets, drainage systems and water supply projects.
For District West, the government has proposed Rs260 million for infrastructure rehabilitation. A further Rs370 million has been earmarked for infrastructure restoration projects in Nazimabad and Liaquatabad.
In Landhi, Zaman Town and Korangi Town, the budget proposes Rs350 million for projects related to roads, water supply, drainage and playgrounds.
The documents further suggest an allocation of Rs45 million for roads, streets, water supply and drainage projects in District Central, while Rs50 million has been proposed for similar schemes in Korangi and Malir districts.
Sources said the federal government is also considering the launch of several new projects in Karachi as part of the upcoming fiscal year's development programme.
