Pakistan announces reduction in fuel prices

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani government has announced a reduction in petroleum prices following a decline in the international market.
According to the official notification, the price of petrol has been decreased by Rs 2.7 per liter, bringing the new price to Rs 247.03 per liter.
Additionally, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs 3.40 per liter, while light diesel prices have been lowered by Rs 1.30 per liter.
Kerosene oil has also seen a decrease, with prices dropping by Rs 3.57 per liter.
Earlier in the day, the government jacked up the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs7.31 per kilogram.
According to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) notification, the new price of LPG for October has been set at Rs251.30 per kilogram.
With the latest increase, the 11.8 kg domestic cylinder will now be available at Rs2,965 per cylinder.
The price adjustment comes as part of the government’s monthly review of energy prices.
