Pakistan’s donkey population rises to 6.16 million

Pakistan’s donkey population has recorded a further increase, according to the latest figures released by the national statistics authorities.

Documents issued by the statistics agency show that the number of donkeys increased by 113,000 over the past year, bringing the total population from 6.047 million to 6.16 million.

The data also revealed that the buffalo population grew by 1.417 million during the same period, rising from 47.688 million to 49.105 million.

Over the past year, the sheep population increased by 392,000, while the number of goats rose by 2.422 million.

The camel population also recorded an increase of 16,000.

In addition, the number of horses increased by 3,000, while the mule population grew by 4,000 compared with the previous year.
