Gold prices held at historic highs on Wednesday in both international and domestic markets, showing no movement after reaching new peaks earlier this week.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, international bullion was steady at $3,770 per ounce, maintaining its record level.

In the local market, 24-carat gold stood unchanged at Rs398,800 per tola, while the price for 10 grams remained at Rs341,901.

Traders said demand in both global and local markets stayed firm, which kept prices stable for a second consecutive session.

In the international market, spot gold traded at $3,762.73 per ounce at 1103 GMT, slightly below Tuesday’s record of $3,790.82.

Among other precious metals, silver slipped 0.3% to $44.89 per ounce, platinum declined 0.7% to $1,467.39, and palladium eased 0.1% to $1,218.61.

Gold has been on a sustained upward trend in recent months, driven by steady investor demand amid economic uncertainties, while domestic prices mirror the movement in global markets.
