Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided not to increase the prices of petroleum products during the holy month of Ramadan, sources said on Thursday.

The government is set to announce the new prices of POL tomorrow at 12:00am midnight in line with the fortnight reviews demanded by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

However, the government will keep the fuel prices unchanged in tomorrow's review for the next 15 days, sources said.

Meanwhile, the price of diesel may decrease by Rs0.82 to Rs 286.51 per litre.

According to sources, the price of kerosene is also expected to slash by Rs0.94 to Rs189.07.

In the last fortnight review, the interim government had increased the price of petrol by Rs4.13, while it had remained the price of diesel unchanged. 

The current prices of petrol and diesel are Rs279.75 per litre and Rs287.33 per litre, respectively.
