A social media post claims that purple apples, also known as "Canadian Grapes," have a unique flavour profile reminiscent of cinnamon and banana, and grow in a harsh climate.
The images of purple apples were shared by a user, named Unnaturalist AI (@unnaturalist.ai), on Instagram.
The post featured stunning images of the purple apples, its salsa, and a tree full of the said fruit.
"The Purple Apple, originating from Saskatchewan, Canada, thrive[s] in its chilly climate, boasting a flavor profile reminiscent of cinnamon and banana. Sometimes referred to as “Canadian Grapes.” Their vibrant purple exterior hides a richly colored interior, making them prized ingredients, particularly in the creation of purple applesauce, celebrated by indigenous Saskatchewan peoples," the caption of the post read.

However, the user clarified in a description after six months that the images are actually digital art creations and not real apples.
"Disclaimer: This apple does not exist and was created as art. Please do not contact anyone looking for this fictional Apple. This is not real," the account explicitly stated in the caption.
