Health department sources reported cases of parents refusing to allow their children to receive polio drops during the recent 7-day national anti-polio campaign in Balochistan.
The campaign was conducted from September 9 to 15, during which approximately 5,000 parents were identified as refusing to vaccinate their children against polio.
This year, 14 polio cases have been reported in Balochistan, with the highest number of cases (6) reported from the Qilla Abdullah district.
In addition, 2 children in Quetta were affected by the virus this year, while one case each was reported from Chaman, Jhal Magsi, Zhob, Kharan, Dera Bugti, and Qilla Saifullah. Three of the affected children have died.
