Lahore authorities have issued a health alert following the reporting of three new monkeypox (Mpox) cases in a government hospital.

According to reports, the virus has been confirmed in two patients, while a third woman is showing symptoms consistent with monkeypox, and her test results are still pending.

Medical officials said the two confirmed patients, Safdar and Abu Sufyan, have been moved to an isolation ward, while the woman with suspected symptoms has been placed in a separate ward as a precaution.

Hospital sources revealed that over the past three weeks, four monkeypox cases had already been reported at Mayo Hospital, raising concerns about a potential increase in cases.

Health authorities have advised citizens to take preventive measures and to immediately contact a health facility if they exhibit any suspected symptoms.
