Angelina Jolie opens her home for California wildfires victims

In the wake of the catastrophic wildfires ravaging California, Angelina Jolie has opened her residence in Los Angeles to friends who have been compelled to evacuate due to the rapidly advancing flames.

A source informed PEOPLE that the tragedy has profoundly affected Jolie, who is actively providing shelter to individuals displaced by the disaster.

“Angie is devastated for those who have lost their homes or been impacted by the fires,” the source stated. “She is doing everything within her power to assist, including welcoming friends who were forced to leave their homes.”

The wildfires have had a considerable impact on the Pacific Palisades region, which is home to numerous Hollywood celebrities, marking one of the most destructive incidents in Los Angeles' recent history.

As reported by the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner (DME), as of Friday, January 10, the disaster has claimed 11 lives.

The Eaton and Palisades fires, which originated in Pasadena, have caused extensive destruction, with over 10,000 structures, including residences and commercial buildings, reduced to rubble.

Officials have characterized the damage as unprecedented, resulting in widespread losses for families and businesses.

The crisis has also led to the displacement of several prominent Hollywood figures, including Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, Anna Faris, Ricki Lake, and Cary Elwes. Despite the extensive devastation, Jolie’s actions reflect a spirit of compassion and community support during this difficult period.
