The Lollywood superstar, Reema Khan, shared her perspective on Bollywood and delved into her journey in the entertainment industry and hinted at a possible comeback to the screens.

Reeema appeared in a talk show recently where she clarified that she has not retired from acting. She mentioned that those currently active in the industry are doing commendable work. Having been a part of 200 films, she expressed her willingness to return to the screen for a character that offers a new and unexplored dimension.

“If a script with such a character comes along, audiences can expect to see her back in action,” she maintained.

When questioned about the type of role she would like for her comeback, the celebrity raised concerns about the limited definition of heroes and heroines in Pakistan's entertainment industry. She observed, "Why is it that in our culture, the hero or heroine is still associated mainly with romantic films and songs? You can embody a hero or heroine in various styles. Therefore, lead roles don't necessarily revolve around songs or romantic scenes."

Discussing the factors that would attract her to a new project, she emphasised, "The character must be impactful. I won't portray a supporting role."

Addressing the question of why she never explored opportunities in Bollywood, the 'Pride of Performance' award winner gave a cryptic response, asserting that it is ‘wiser’ to earn respect and showcase one's skills in their own country.

“I received offers from Bollywood. I think that they already have a lot of talent there. From what I have observed, it’s wiser to stay in your home turf. There is no point in going to a place where you have to feel ashamed.”

Reema clarified that despite the warm reception Pakistani artists receive in India, certain cliques hinder them from establishing a foothold in the industry. She mentioned, "While they do give you the due respect, cliques exist everywhere, including Bollywood, and they are not keen on allowing artists, particularly from Pakistan, to make a mark.”
