Chaudhry Aslam’s widow slams Indian movie ‘Dhurandar’ as against Pakistan's integrity

Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh’s movie, which has been directed by Aditya Dhar, has Sanjay Dutt playing the role of real-life Pakistani Officer, Chaudhary Aslam.

He was one of the senior police officers in Karachi. Chaudhary Aslam Khan Swati, a dedicated police officer from 2005 to 2014, arrested and killed terrorists, gangwar-criminals, target killers and extortionists belonging to different groups and political parties. On 9 January 2014, he was killed in a bomb blast carried out by the TTP.

His wife, Noreen Aslam Chaudhry, has been in the news lately after she slammed the movie, Dhurandhar and claimed that her husband, late, Chaudhary Aslam was portrayed in a wrong light.

She claimed that she saw the teaser of the movie and found something’s really disrespectful towards her husband’s reputation. Firstly she pointed out that in the movie it was said, a child born out of a union of satan and jinn, is known as a Chaudhry.

To this, she said that her husband belonged to a very religious family and calling him a child of a satan is utterly disrespectful. Secondly she pointed out that, in the movie, Sanjay Dutt has been shown wearing a bullet-proof jacket but in real life Chaudhry Aslam never wore a bullet-proof jacket, proving how courageous he was.

Thirdly she said that the movie also demeans the image of Pakistan Army which she finds very unappealing and claims that this has always been a case with Indian cinema that they end up degrading the institutions of Pakistan in some way or the other.

She also claimed that the portrayal of Rehman Dakait in this movie is falsely shown as a very powerful figure, even though, he was equal to nothing in front of Chaudhry Aslam and was killed by Chaudhry Aslam only. 

She also stated that she is not against any actor in the movie, she is against the narrative presented in the movie and the people behind the direction, production and story line of it. She said she will definitely file a case against them for presenting her husband, the hero of nation, in a misleading light. She also noted that Chaudhry Aslam did not only combat against Reham Dakait but other terrorist groups too till his last breath.

She said that the U.S and UK also recognized him for his acts of bravery to curb terrorism in the country. She also recalled the May attack of India on Pakistan and how it was initiated by India and then successfully taken care of by Pakistan.

She said the Indian media presented the entire war in a very wrong light even then and this has been a constant practice that they follow to bad-name Pakistan. 

She concluded by saying that India has never produced national heroes like Pakistan , that’s why they need stories of heroes from Pakistan to make films on like they have done on Chaudhry Aslam.
