'Everything is mashallah': Cardi B performs in Riyadh, praises Saudi Arabia

US rapper Cardi B performed in Saudi Arabia on Sunday morning and posted a series of videos on social media, praising the kingdom.

Cardi B was one of the main performers at the MDLBEAST Soundstorm music festival. During her performance, she greeted the audience with “Salam alaikum.”

In videos shared on Instagram, she described Saudi Arabia in a positive light and said that the country looked “brand new” and added that “everything is mashallah.”

Her videos were widely shared online in the kingdom.

Saudi Arabia has hosted several international celebrities in recent years as part of efforts to promote entertainment and attract foreign investment. Artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion and Eminem have also performed in the country.

Earlier this year, the Riyadh Comedy Festival sparked debate in the United States, where some comedians were criticised for performing in the kingdom despite previously supporting free speech causes at home.
