Hania Aamir gets 'Star of Pakistan' award at British Parliament

Renowned Pakistani actress Hania Aamir was awarded the prestigious Star of Pakistan at a special ceremony held in the UK Parliament’s Jubilee Room.

The honour was presented by Labour MP Afzal Khan alongside distinguished guests, recognizing Aamir’s exceptional contributions to the entertainment industry on an international scale.

The event, hosted by Afzal Khan, brought together notable figures, including Dr. Sarah Naseem, wife of Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, and key members of the British Pakistani community and media.

Lauding Aamir’s achievements, Afzal described her as a powerhouse of talent who has significantly contributed to arts and culture.

Expressing her gratitude, Aamir remarked, “It’s a privilege to receive this honour. As artists, we have a responsibility to represent Pakistan positively and foster unity within our community.”

When asked about her rumored Bollywood projects and collaboration with Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh, Aamir remained reserved about her current filming commitments in the UK. However, she acknowledged the uplifting impact of Dosanjh inviting her on stage at his London concert last year.

"Art transcends borders, and despite political differences, humanity and creativity should always prevail," she noted.

Maria Soraya, who introduced Aamir at the ceremony, praised her as a global influencer and youth icon. “Hania Aamir has redefined acting and fashion, seamlessly breaking international boundaries,” she stated.

Jokingly hinting at her frequent visits to the UK, Aamir quipped that she might consider relocating to London but assured fans that she would return to Pakistan in time for Eid celebrations.

Beyond her acting prowess, Aamir has solidified her presence in fashion and brand collaborations. As the most-followed Pakistani celebrity on Instagram, she enjoys widespread popularity, including a significant fanbase in India.
