Hania Aamir takes on new role as UN Women Pakistan’s goodwill ambassador

Renowned actress Hania Aamir has been appointed as the National Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women Pakistan. The celebrated star will now use her influence to shed light on the gender gaps that persist in society, while also actively working to close them through advocacy, awareness campaigns, and youth engagement.

“Together, we will continue working toward a future where every woman and girl can realise her full potential, free from violence, discrimination, and inequality,” UN Women Pakistan said in an Instagram post announcing her appointment.

Hania Aamir has earned global recognition for her compelling on-screen performances and natural charm, which have helped her build a massive fan base worldwide. She remains one of Pakistan’s most-followed celebrities on social media, with over 19 million followers on Instagram.

In her new role, Hania will collaborate with UN Women programmes to raise awareness among young people about pressing gender issues, including domestic violence and the lack of financial rights and autonomy for women.

Recently, Hania was honoured with a Global Star Award for her influence as an actor. Prior to that, she also featured in a cross-border Punjabi film alongside Indian singing sensation Diljit Dosanjh. The film became a huge success, and their collaboration was widely praised by fans across both countries.
