The response of Haris Khokhar has emerged following allegations levelled against him by social media influencer Dr Nabiha Ali Khan.
In a video statement, Haris Khokhar claimed that Dr Nabiha suffers from suspicion and delusions, which, according to him, have no remedy.
He said there were no serious differences between them and maintained that she was happier with him than in her parental home.
He stated that when he started a new business, Dr Nabiha insisted on accompanying him wherever he went.
Haris said it was not appropriate to take one’s wife along to professional meetings, gatherings with friends, or other social engagements.
According to him, whenever he intended to leave home for work, Dr Nabiha would suspect that he was going elsewhere.
Haris asserted that he has never engaged in any wrongdoing or illegal activity, but alleged that his wife remained consumed by mistrust and doubt.
He further said that he wanted to work in order to fulfil his responsibilities towards his home and family, but it was not possible to take his wife everywhere.
He maintained that the issue was purely one of distrust and negative thinking, adding that there had been no quarrels, physical violence, or verbal abuse between them.
It is worth noting that Dr Nabiha Ali Khan surprised her followers last year by announcing her engagement and marriage to Haris Khokhar.
However, within months of the wedding, reports of differences between the couple began to circulate.
Recently, Dr Nabiha said during a television programme that her marriage was facing severe difficulties. She clarified that the relationship had not yet ended, but circumstances had deteriorated to the point where divorce was a possibility.
Dr Nabiha alleged that if her marriage were to collapse, her husband’s family would be responsible. She claimed that Haris Khokhar treated her unfairly under the influence of his parents.
She also questioned why she had been brought into the marriage if another match had already been preferred by the family.
Dr Nabiha said she devoted herself fully to her married life, served her mother-in-law day and night, managed all household responsibilities, and even reduced her professional commitments to give time to her marriage. Despite these efforts, she said, the situation failed to improve.
