Renowned actor and host Fahad Mustafa shared insights into his decision to take on the role in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, revealing that he was initially frustrated with the casting process.
Fahad Mustafa has been making waves with his highly successful drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. The show not only earned him widespread praise for his performance but also garnered him international recognition as both an actor and producer.
In a recent appearance on a podcast, he revealed, “During the casting process, I was quite angry because many actors were only focused on money.".
As an actor himself, Fahad emphasised that the real reward comes with the success of a project, and that an actor's dedication and presence on set are what make a drama truly memorable.
"It's not just about money,” he said. “Once a project succeeds, the money follows. What really matters is the actor's commitment to the set and their ability to bring the character to life."
The Kankar actor further explained that he gave nine months of his time to the director, whom he trusted due to their previous successful collaborations.
His dedication to the project, he believes, was a key factor in the show's success. I was there on the set, 24/7, living the character to perform well, he added.
Interestingly, Fahad revealed that Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum wasn't originally written for him.
In fact, he was initially considering another drama, Burns Road Kay Romeo Juliet. However, after several A-list actors declined the role, he was encouraged by actress Hania Aamir to take it on.
"Hania was always there, supporting the decision," he said, also mentioning other notable cast members like Javed Sheikh, Emmad Irfani, and Bushra Ansari, who played important roles in shaping the shows
The Actor In Law star also shared his decision to do Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum as a personal gesture for director Jarjees Seja, with whom he wanted to collaborate. "Jarjees always respected me, and I felt that ARY needed me at that moment," he explained.
Reflecting on the current state of the entertainment industry, Fahad stressed that successful projects are the result of hard work and dedication.
He cited Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana as an example, noting that his career flourished when he had time to focus on good work, but declined when he became distracted by financial success.
