Renowned Pakistani actress Javeria Saud took a veiled dig at Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz as the former posted her pictures in 'police uniform' with a cryptic caption.
Earlier on April 25, Punjab's first woman CM attended the passing out ceremony of the policewomen by wearing a police uniform.
However, her positive gesture towards the female cops was not received well by her opponents and many celebrities.
The Baby Baji actress took to Instagram to share a series of photos, in which she could be seen wearing police and army uniforms.
Without naming anyone, the popular host said that she also wanted to be a top model in the country by posting her pictures in uniform.
"Mujhe bhi viral hona hai.. Mein bhi pictures post karungi… or ek din top model banoongi [I also want to be viral. I will post pictures and one day will become a top model]," she wrote in the caption.
According to reports, CM Maryam could face a jail term of three years or a fine of Rs100,000 for donning a uniform.
But, the provincial police said CM Maryam Nawaz is entitled to wear a uniform as per Punjab Police Dress Regulations.
Contrary to the Punjab police's clarification, the use of police uniforms without authorisation is a punishable crime under clause 151 of the Police Order 2002.
"If any person not being a member of the police wears without authorisation, the uniform of police or any dress having the appearance or bearing any of the distinctive marks of police uniform, he shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine up to one hundred thousand rupees, or with both," the law read.
On the other hand, CM Maryam is all set to wear the 'Elite Force uniform' for the passing out parade of the provincial police.
The passing out parade is set to be held next week at the Elite force training centre located at Bedian road in Lahore.
