In a powerful and heartfelt gesture of solidarity with the people of Gaza, a couple in Karachi celebrated their wedding reception not with traditional fanfare but with a message of unity and resistance.
The ceremony, held on June 24, was characterised by simplicity and symbolic acts in support of Palestine.
The keffiyeh, a traditional scarf and emblem of Palestinian resistance, into their attire was incorporated into the attire of the male guests, while tables and floral hand garlands for women were adorned with Palestinian flags.
This young couple had previously expressed solidarity with Palestine during their engagement a year ago, when they raised funds to support Palestinian cause.

He added, “We’ll continue our support and solidarity with Palestine until the United Nations takes action against Israeli aggression.”
His sister-in-law echoed the sentiment, saying, “We want this message to be amplified on every platform to never forget Gaza, to be the voice of Palestine, and to always stand against oppression. This effort of ours is small, but we believe collective consciousness and unity can bring real change.”
Demonstrating their commitment through action, the couple decided to donate all monetary gifts received during the ceremony to relief efforts for Palestinian civilians in Gaza enduring Israeli atrocities during the ongoing genocide.
