Pakistan's renowned scriptwriter Khalilur Rehman Qamar has moved a plea for the return of his belongings in connection with a honey trap-blackmail case.

The plea was heard by Judge Arshad Javed at the Anti-Terrorism Court.

In his application, Qamar detailed that police had recovered Rs 240,000 in cash and the registration book of his vehicle from the accused individuals involved in the case.

He emphasized that the accused had used his ATM card to withdraw money from his bank account without his consent. Consequently, Qamar is requesting the court to return both his cash and the car's registration book to him.

The court has responded by issuing a notice to the prosecution regarding Qamar's application and has sought a response by September 28.

Khalilur Rehman Qamar, along with the main accused Amna Arooj and co-accused Hassan Shah and Rafiq alias Feki, are currently being held in judicial custody in relation to this case, which involves allegations of honey trapping and kidnapping for ransom.

The incident came to light on July 15, 2024, when Qamar was allegedly abducted and robbed in Lahore. He reported the crime to the police on July 21, after being released following a ransom payment.

According to Qamar, he had been invited to Arooj's residence under the pretext of discussing a potential drama project. However, his lawyer asserts that he was forcibly abducted by armed men, highlighting the serious nature of the allegations against those involved in the case.

The developments in this case continue to unfold as the court awaits further responses from the prosecution regarding the return of Qamar's belongings.
