Maria B displays Palestine’s flag during Umrah

Renowned fashion designer Maria B took to Instagram to share a video of herself displaying the Palestine flag while performing Umrah at the Holy Kaaba in Makkah.

Maria B has been an active advocate, highlighting Israel's actions in Gaza and using her social media platforms to express her solidarity with the Palestinians in various ways.

During her recent pilgrimage to Umrah with her family, she showcased a mini bag engraved with the Palestine flag while standing near the Holy Kaaba.

Previously, when some pilgrims attempted to raise the Palestine flag during the pilgrimage, it was confiscated by authorities, who issued a directive prohibiting any political flags or expressions at the holy site.

Maria B stated that she had been praying for Palestine throughout her pilgrimage.

In a heartfelt caption, she wrote, “Free Palestine 🇵🇸 and Pakistan… This was our prayer every single minute during Umrah… May Allah accept our prayers and Ibaadat. May Allah have mercy on us, the Ummah of the Holy Prophet (SAW).”

Social media users praised Maria B for her outspoken stance on Gaza.

The designer has also vocally campaigned for the boycott of pro-Israel brands due to their complicity in the genocide of Palestinians.

She launched a clothing collection that celebrated Palestinian heritage, with all proceeds dedicated to donations for Gaza.

In Novemeber, she donated Rs7 million to the Al-Khidmat Foundation, furthering her efforts to assist those affected by the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

The overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza has reached at least  46,726 with more than 109,196 wounded. Thousands more remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
