Mehwish Hayat says she refused multiple Bollywood offers to focus on Pakistani cinema

Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat revealed that she has received numerous offers to work in Bollywood films, but she has refused them all.

The actress made the surprising revelation in a recent podcast interview. 

When asked about her decision, Mehwish Hayat explained that she has ample work opportunities in Pakistan and has been an integral part of the country's cinema revival.

"I have countless opportunities here in Pakistan. I have been part of the revival of Pakistani cinema and some of its biggest and most successful films. I have received immense respect and love in my country," the Actor in Law star said. 

Mehwish Hayat further said that she has received immense respect and love in her home country, which makes her hesitant to explore opportunities in Bollywood. 

"After getting so much recognition and success in my country, I felt that I should not accept offers from Bollywood," she added.

"I am enjoying my work in my country. People come to watch my films with their families, and it is a big success." the Na Maloom Afraad actress vowed.

Hayat made her Lollywood debut with a special appearance in 2014 film named "Na Maloom Afraad". 

Later, she gave Pakistani cinema several hit films, including Actor In Law, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, and Chhalawa.

In 2019, the Pakistani government honoured her with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for her contributions to the arts.
