Controversial writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has said that women in Pakistan will become prostitutes if men are not allowed to have four wives, a practice permitted by Sharia law.

Following a recent controversy over his disrespectful behaviour towards a female participant on a TV program, Qamar has made even more provocative statements about women, advising them to compromise because "men can't change their nature."

He appeared on a YouTube podcast where Qamar asserted that he has always criticised men and is not against women.

When asked about his views on polygamy, he stated, "Men are manufactured in such a way that they are allowed to get married four times," implying that men will inevitably seek out other women.

"In Pakistan, there are 36% boys and 64% girls. If we don't follow this Sharia principle, a segment of women will become prostitutes," the Meray Paas Tum Ho scriptwriter said.

Qamar advised women to accept polygamy as a means of protecting their status in society.

He further argued that "men's extramarital affairs can be forgiven because they may destroy a household, whereas women's infidelity would destroy generations."

"The most foolish woman in the world is the one who thinks that men would change," he opined.

During the podcast, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar also criticised actress Saba Qamar, stating that he will not cast her again due to her "vulgar" dressing choices.

"The kind of clothes she wears are completely against my norms and culture," he maintained.
