Nazish Jahangir likely to be arrested as court rejects her bail plea in fraud case

A local court in Lahore has dismissed renowned actress Nazish Jahangir's interim bail in a fraud case due to her repeated absence from court proceedings.

The complaint against the actress was filed by fellow actor Azan Aswad Haroon at the Defense C police station in the provincial capital, accusing her of failing to return Rs2.5 million loan. 

The plaintiff also claimed that Nazish failed to return his car. The case is currently being heard in a session court.

Nazish had applied for a two-month interim bail, but the court rejected it due to her non-compliance with court summons.

Meanwhile, her co-accused, Sikandar’s interim bail was extended after he appeared in the court.

With her bail rejected, Nazish is now likely to face arrest. The Kahin Deep Jalay actor has not issued any public statement regarding the case, nor has she addressed the fraud allegations in the media.

Nazish has been involved in several controversies throughout her career. In 2020, Actor Mohsin Abbas Haider’s ex-wife, who accused him of domestic abuse, also alleged that he had an affair with Nazish.

She was arrested with Mohsib Abbas Haider by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cybercrime wing in Karachi.

The actress denied the allegations in an interview, saying, "I won’t talk about it, but being dragged into this didn’t affect me, I became stronger after that."

Earlier, actor Fahad Sheikh commented on her work ethic and noted that he would think carefully before working with her again.
