Legendary cricketer Shahid Afridi has praised Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Pakistan Armed Forces for their sacrifices and contributions in protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty. He also emphasized the need to discourage fake news on social media and criticized YouTubers who openly criticize Pakistan while living abroad.

During an event in London, Afridi spoke to the media, highlighting the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, who risk their own lives to protect the nation while their own children suffer their absence.

“Our army is one of the most credible forces in the world, and as Pakistanis, we should acknowledge this fact and cooperate with each other for the well-being of others,” he said.

“I have never heard a US president praising an army chief or a prime minister this much,” Afridi added.

He also noted that Pakistan’s respect on the global stage has increased significantly after May 10, referring to the victory against the Indian assault, when Pakistani forces downed Indian jets and forced a ceasefire following a powerful retaliation.

Afridi stressed the importance of building the nation on its own strength through education and sports, while reducing dependence on IMF loans.

He also praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, dismissing criticisms from her opponents who labeled her a “TikToker.” “At least she is working,” he said, adding that he hopes the new Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, also serves the people effectively.

“I don’t depend on social media, and I won’t earn haram money for my children by lying online,” he stated.

Afridi further criticized some "registered liers"who, despite claiming they would never leave Pakistan, continue to post videos from abroad criticizing the country. “If they had such courage, they should have spoken up while staying in Pakistan,” he said.
