The exhilarating Pakistani web series "Ranikot" has made its debut on the global streaming platform Amazon Prime. Packed with intense scenes featuring alcohol, nudity, and violence, the series comes with a clear adult-only warning on Amazon Prime.
Regarding the release of the web series on Amazon Prime, its director Kashif Rizvi said in a press conference at the Lahore Press Club that the web series deals with the ‘Wadera (feudal)’ system and the social problems arising from it.
Kashif Rizvi highlighted that the web series focuses on empowering women. Fiza Malik, the lead actress, expressed delight at the series being featured on Amazon. She emphasied that the platform provides an opportunity to shed light on women's issues globally through the web series.
Released on January 8, the web series trailer unveils the exploitative actions of influential 'Waderas,' using female relatives of subordinates for their nefarious intentions.
The narrative revolves around Ranikot's brave young girl, who, after enduring torture and exploitation, courageously stands up against oppression in her desert village.
The creators of the web series depict it as a compelling tale set in rural Pakistan, where “A resilient young girl battles against the odds to protect herself. Born into a small village with limited opportunities, she faces a series of formidable challenges that threaten to engulf her. In this gripping Pakistani drama serial, witness the journey of a girl's unwavering spirit. Will she rise above it all or will she become prey to the harsh realities of her world?”
