“People often say I am just like Geet from Jab We Met,” says Hira Mani

Renowned actor Hira Mani shared a personal anecdote, saying that her personality is often likened to Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor’s iconic character, Geet, from Jab We Met.

Hira appeared in an interview with an Indian journalist, who asked her to name a classic romantic movie in which she would like to play a role.

Instead of answering directly, Hira turned the question back to the journalist, asking for his opinion. He responded, "I think you should have been in Jab We Met."

Hira laughed and replied, "Everyone thinks that! People often say I am just like Geet from Jab We Met." She added that when the film was released, even her own family members drew the same comparison.

"My aunt called me and said, 'Hira, Geet is your character! You should watch Jab We Met."

Hira also acknowledged that Geet’s personality closely resembles her own, jokingly saying, "Maybe Imtiaz Ali met me in the past and decided to make this film."

However, she also spoke about the downsides of being compared to such a popular character. "Many people started accusing me of copying Geet just because we have similar personalities," she said.

Clarifying that she does not intentionally imitate Kareena Kapoor, Hira mentioned that she can mimic the Bollywood star. She then went on to recreate some of Geet’s famous dialogues from Jab We Met during the interview.
