Iffat Omar declines Punjab Govt’s offer to serve as cultural adviser

Actress and model Iffat Omar took to X to clarify that while she was offered the position of cultural advisor to the Punjab Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bukhari, she has respectfully declined the role.
Reports began circulating on Monday claiming that Omar had been appointed by the Punjab government to help promote arts and culture in the province. However, the actress had not made any public statement regarding the news until now.
As friends and followers began congratulating her on the supposed appointment, Omar finally addressed the matter and expressed her gratitude to the government while confirming that she chose not to accept the position.
"Thank you so much to the Punjab Government for considering me capable enough for this responsibility," she wrote in a post on X. "But after giving it some thought, I humbly decline the offer and wish you all the best for the Culture Ministry."
Earlier, reports surface in the media stating that to support her new role, a dedicated office had been established for Iffat Omar at the Alhamra Cultural Complex in Lahore, from where she will oversee and plann cultural initiatives.

Her appointment was welcomed by various circles, with many expressing hope that her experience, creative vision, and commitment to the arts will contribute significantly to enriching Punjab’s cultural landscape.
