Renowned actor Saba Qamar joined United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund's (UNICEF) campaign to support and empower girls in achieving their dreams.
On Women’s Day, she took to Instagram to share a photo of herself wearing a UNICEF T-shirt while sitting among several village women.
Expressing her thoughts, Saba Qamar stated that while she was fortunate to have fulfilled her own aspirations, she wants every girl to have equal opportunities to pursue their ambitions.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t been given the chance to chase my dreams. Every girl deserves the same. They need to be believed in, supported and empowered,” she said.
The Sar-e-Rah actor added, "I am joining UNICEF’s #GirlGoals campaign which calls on all of us to listen to girls, support their leadership and provide them with opportunities that can help make their dreams a reality."
Earlier, Saba was appointed as the country's first National Ambassador for Children's Rights by the UNICEF.
The ceremony, held in Karachi on the International Day of the Girl Child, marked a significant milestone in the fight for children's rights.
"I have joined UNICEF's mission for the rights of children in Pakistan, especially for the empowerment of girls," Saba Qamar said in an interview with Independent Urdu.
"It is an honor for me to be the ambassador. I pledge to play my part for the betterment of the children and youth of Pakistan so that they have the opportunity to dream and act to fulfill their dreams," she added.

Pakistan faces alarming statistics, with 1.9 million young girls married, ranking sixth globally.
More than half of teenage girls become pregnant before their 18th birthday, posing life-threatening risks for both mother and child.
