In the murder case of TikToker Sana Yousaf, the accused, Omar Hayat, refused to accept the alleged confession statement, saying that he neither committed the murder nor any other crime.

According to details, a hearing in the Sana Yousaf murder case was held at the Additional District and Sessions Court. During the proceedings, the main accused, Omar Hayat, recorded his final statement under Section 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code in the presence of his lawyer.

The accused completely denied the charges and levelled serious allegations against the police and prosecution.

In his statement, Omar Hayat claimed that he is 23 years old and has no connection whatsoever with the murder, adding that he had never even travelled to Islamabad.

The accused stated that both he and Sana Yousaf were well-known TikTok personalities. He alleged that Sana Yousaf’s followers exerted immense pressure on the police through social media, after which the police, under political and public pressure, arrested him from his home in Jaranwala on 3 June merely on suspicion.

He further told the court that the police fabricated a fake rent-a-car agreement to strengthen the prosecution’s case, while no CCTV footage from either the vehicle or the rental office exists on record.

Omar Hayat stated that he does not even know the vehicle owner or driver and alleged that their statements were obtained under pressure. He also claimed that the story regarding the victim’s stolen mobile phone was fabricated later.

Describing the incident as a “blind murder case”, the accused argued that there were clear contradictions between the medical report and the police narrative.

Omar Hayat further revealed that after his arrest, he was taken to the police station where the victim’s family was already present. He alleged that the police themselves recorded and circulated his videos and forcibly told Sana Yousaf’s parents, “This is your accused.”

The accused also alleged that he was subjected to severe torture at the police station, pressured into confessing to the murder, and forced to sign seven blank pages.

He stated that the confession prepared by the investigating officer was false and that he did not even know what had been written in it. He added that although he raised objections during the identification parade, those concerns were not made part of the official record.

The accused reiterated that he never had any dispute or contact with Sana Yousaf and had never requested to meet her.

Rejecting the confession once again, Omar Hayat stated, “I do not even know what a confession statement is. The alleged confession regarding the murder is not mine.”

Following the completion of Omar Hayat’s statement under Section 342, the court adjourned the hearing until tomorrow.
