Renowned Pakistani rapper Talha Anjum expressed condolences for the victims of the recent Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), labeling the attackers “ruthless and inhumane.”

Taking to X, Anjum shared his grief over the tragic incident in which 27 tourists were shot dead in broad daylight by unidentified armed assailants in the Pahalgam town.

The rapper, who enjoys a massive fan base in India owing to his dynamic rap style, spoke out about the attack nearly a week later, offering sympathies to the victims and their families. Despite the growing hostilities between the two countries,

Anjum emphasised the need to promote “peace and harmony” across borders.

In the aftermath of a "false flag operation" in Pahalgam, Indian authorities have reportedly begun restricting the digital presence of prominent Pakistani figures.

According to Indian media outlets, the social media accounts of several Pakistani celebrities, including Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Sanam Saeed, Sajal Aly, Ali Zafar, and Imran Abbas, have been blocked in India. In addition, the accounts of other Pakistani artists have also been rendered inaccessible.

This digital censorship comes amid wider restrictions on Pakistani media content. Earlier, India, which touts itself as the world’s largest democracy and a defender of free speech, banned at least 16 Pakistani YouTube channels.

These include major news outlets such as Geo News, Dawn News, Samaa TV, ARY News, and BOL News, among others.

YouTube channels run by prominent Pakistani journalists have also reportedly been blocked. Platforms covering sports and current affairs are also on the list.

Indian authorities have accused these channels of spreading “misleading” and “provocative” content following their critical coverage of the Pahalgam incident.

However, no concrete evidence or specific examples of misinformation have been provided.
