In his message, he urged fans to move past the issue, requesting them to "filhaal let the controversy go." His apology comes after widespread public criticism, with many calling out his remarks as insensitive.
Renowned actor Danish Taimoor found himself at the center of criticism over his remarks on polygamy during his Ramadan show. Though he dismissed any possibility of marrying again, his condescending attitude while addressing the topic in front of his wife, Ayeza Khan, did not sit well with many social media users.
Several people criticised him for making an unnecessary public spectacle on TV and bragging to his wife that religion grants him the right to marry more than once. Taimoor, however, made it clear that his love and respect for Ayeza were the reasons he would not pursue a second marriage.
“I want to say this in front of her and everyone that I am permitted to marry four wives, though I am not doing it. This permission is given to me by Allah, and no one can take this right away from me,” he stated while Ayeza and host Rabia Anum listened in silence.
