Bollywood star Anil Kapoor landed in the spotlight after posting “Eid Mubarak” to Muslims on X. While many appreciated the gesture, others were quick to ask which Eid he was referring to, with some jokingly replying “Ramazan Mubarak.”
The post, which has already garnered 2 million views, was actually meant to mark 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, the day of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Fans thanked Kapoor for his wishes but gently corrected him, reminding that the day is observed as the Prophet’s birth and passing, not a traditional Eid.
The birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was observed in some countries on September 5, while Pakistan will mark the occasion on September 6, based on moon sightings.
"Guys, give him a break. So what if he said Eid Mubarak instead of Eid Milad un Nabi? My question to Muslims across the Muslim nations is, how many of you even said Eid Milad un Nabi on your timeline?" an X user responded to trolls.

“Sir, this day marks both the birth and the passing of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Muslims around the world remember him for his teachings and deeds, and strive to spread the message of love, peace, and compassion across the world,” another X user gently corrected him.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended greetings on Eid Milad-un-Nabi through his X account.
"Best wishes on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi. May this sacred day bring with it peace and well-being in our society. May the values of compassion, service and justice always guide us. Eid Mubarak," his post read.
