In a major relief to the masses, the price of LPG has been reduced by Rs70 per kg and the new prices came from Rs250 to Rs180.
Chairman of the LPG Distributors Association Irfan Khokhar confirmed the news and said the price of LPG per kg was reduced from Rs250 rupees to Rs180.
Irfan Khokhar said OGDCL reduced production costs as soon as three LPG ships reached Karachi port.
“Another ship of LPG will reach Pakistan in two or three days,” Irfan Khokhar said.
“LPG price will come down further as the new ship arrives,” he added.
Ogra spokesperson said the new LPG price notification will be released on June 1. “If someone sells at a lower price than the Ogra price, then it is his own will,” said Ogra spokesman said.
Ogra spokesperson said no distributor can sell LPG at higher rates.
Separately, the government is likely to slash the price of petroleum products, industry officials said.
Well-placed sources said the price of petrol is likely to be decreased by Rs6.50 per litre, while a Rs7.50 per litre reduction is expected in diesel price.
Sources said the government intends to pass on relief to inflation-hit masses as the price of the commodity has dropped in the international markets.
