At least 500 people have been injured following a massive explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port in the southern Iranian city of Bandar Abbas, according to state media reports.
The blast, which occurred on Saturday morning, shattered windows in nearby office buildings and caused significant damage to surrounding infrastructure.
While no fatalities have been officially confirmed, footage circulating online showed numerous people wounded on the streets, with some reports indicating individuals trapped beneath semi-collapsed structures.
Authorities said a major fire continues to burn at the site, with images showing thick black smoke rising above the port. Emergency services are actively evacuating the area and transferring injured individuals to local hospitals.
State TV reported that the explosion was triggered by several unsealed containers stored at the port's wharf area. Officials also noted that the blast's force was strong enough to damage cars and buildings several kilometers away.
