Pakistan’s rising squash talent, Noor Zaman, secured the title at the inaugural WSF World U23 Squash Championships with an impressive comeback victory against Egypt’s Kareem El Torkey in the final on Thursday.

The match, held at Karachi's DHA Creek Club, saw Zaman trailing 2-0 before he mounted a stunning turnaround, winning the next three sets to claim the title 3-2.

“I just focused on my game,” Zaman said after the win. “I had it in my mind to fight till the very end.”

Seeded second in the tournament, Zaman reached the final after defeating Malaysia’s Ameeshenraj Chandaran in the semi-final on Wednesday.

The Pakistani was leading by two sets when Chandaran retired from the match.

Reflecting on the support he received, Zaman expressed gratitude to the local crowd: “The crowd support has been incredible, and I’ll give everything to win this title for Pakistan.”
