A Pakistani-American businessman on Wednesday announced two houses worth Rs3.5 million each for the family of the YouTuber named Saad Ahmed, who was killed by a security guard in Karachi for filming a vlog.
The distressing incident took place outside Sarina Mobile Mall in Buffer Zone area of the metropolis on Tuesday night.
According to the police, the victim was filming a public opinion vlog on the upcoming Pakistan-India T20I World Cup match.
During the recording, the 24-year-old vlogger asked the suspect, identified as Ahmed Gul, to give his prediction about the high-voltage clash.
However, the suspect got angry over the question and opened fire at the 24-year-old victim.
In the CCTV footage, the security guard could be seen loading his AK-47 and killing the victim.
Following the incident, the Taimuria police station team arrested the suspect and started interrogating the matter.
During the investigation, the suspect said that he killed Saad because "he filmed him without his consent".
The 35-year-old security guard is an employee of Shah Security Company, from whose possession an AK-47 was also recovered by the police.
Talking to the media outside the deceased house, Saad's friend informed that he was the only son of his parents and was the father of two minor boys.
He further said that recently Saad came back to Pakistan from Dubai as he did not find any job in the Gulf Country.
"He was jobless and was trying to make his career in content creation," the victim's friend added.
He urged the authorities to take strict action against the culprit as "he took away a life for just shooting a vlog".
