At least two people were killed and 11 others injured in rain-related incidents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The PDMA said the fatalities were reported from Mardan following incidents triggered by rainfall during the night. Among the injured, four people were reported from Battagram, one from Mardan, and six from Swat.

The report also noted significant damage to property, including four houses that were completely destroyed—one in Battagram and three in Shangla—while 27 houses were partially damaged across Shangla, Swat, Torghar, Upper Dir and Mardan. A school building in Shangla was also affected due to the adverse weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Office has forecast dust storms and rain with intermittent gaps across upper parts of the country until May 23.

According to PDMA’s daily weather update, the highest rainfall in the province over the past 24 hours was recorded in Kalam at 12mm, followed by Chitral with 11mm, Malam Jabba with 8mm, Saidu Sharif and Balakot with 7mm each, and Kakul and Mardan with 4mm.

Drosh received 2mm, while light rainfall of 1mm was recorded in Parachinar, Timergara, Mirkhani and Dir.
